Re: LYNCHEY/LYNCHY/LYNCH
In Response To: Re: LYNCHEY/LYNCHY/LYNCH ()

Thank you for the offer Liz.

I understand that marriage docs give little family info although death certificates can be more detailed.

In 1833 my GG grandmother, Sarah LYNCHEY, was convicted at Castle Rushen along with a son. Both were transported, separately, to OZZ in 1835.

Becuase one son was over 8 years he had to be left behind.

I have uncovered details on one possibility, Andrew LYNCHEY/LYNCHY/LYNCH depending on what record you look at (this happened withe the ones who came to OZZ also).

From Brian Lawsons great site I have found two others whose census and death dates also give a feasable birth year.

*Charles LYNCHEY aged 70, buried Bra 17/02/1882. Other docs list him a LYNCHEY and LYNCH all with a wife named Elizabeth

*John LYNCHEY aged 50, buried Bra 09/04/1860. Other docs list hin as LYNCH all with a wife Catherine.

Also there may be a burial for the husband of convict Sarah sometime between C1820 and 1833 althogh I have no inkling on him at all.

If the death docs give any family details, and it is not too much trouble I would appreciate them.

If you ever need any details from OZZ please contact me.

Frances, thank you for your info also.

Cheers

Peter
