LYNCHEY/LYNCHY/LYNCH

I am still looking for the roots of my convict ancestor whose family, in OZZ at least, used these three spellings.

Sarah LYNCHEY was forced to leave one son behind (he was over 8 years).

I have info on Andrew LYNCHEY buried Bra 05/10/1879.

From Brian Lawsons site I have found there are two other LYNCHEYS whose birth year, calculated from their age at burial, would fit.

*Charles LYNCHEY buried Bra 14/02/1882 aged 70
*John LYNCHEY buried Bra 09/04/1860

From Census details both appear to have married and had families.

I understand that marriage documents give little information, however death certificates are more detailed.

I understand that 1860 was prior to compulsory registration however there may be sources held by the Catholic church which may give details.

I have tried writing to the Church but they do not respond. Are their any other avenues to seek their records?

So far as post compulsory registration which government body do I approach and how much would it cost?

This has been a long search, could anyone please assist me.

Cheers
