Hi Pat,
What makes you think that Sophia A, Annie, David, and Louisa were children of Eliza and David Richardson? Just because they are in the Galveston 1850 census as David's children, doesn't mean they were Eliza's. We know little Eliza Christened 26 Sep 1847 at St. George's, Douglas to "Elizabeth Oates and David Richardson" (using IGI alone) was the daughter of Eliza but we don't know the older ones were. And looking in the indexes for the marriage of Eliza Oates is a different prospect from looking in the indexes for Elizabeth.

Then we have the problem that the source for the Manx birth of Eliza was a patron submission: "Patron ordinance submission sheets, 1969-1991" That's never a good sign.

I too, am stumped after a cursory perusal. I tried to find the birth county of Sophia A who in Galveston was an eleven year old born in England. I used her name hoping it to be rare enough that a likely county might emerge but no luck Then there's eleven year old and seemingly unattached Emma Higgs in the Galveston household and born in England and who is seventeen year old Thos Pritchard store ? clerk in the household and born in England . Did you check out the 45 year old Willard Richardson newpaper editor next door in Galveston ? I presume you're looking for the mariage to find out more about the parents of Eliza's at least two children. I only found the one (Frederick) born in Louidiana. What was the name of the last?

I hate to give this up but.. gotta go.
