Re: Karran
In Response To: Karran ()

Arthur Henry Karran was buried 26 march 1970 in Douglas Cemetery. This was just after your visit so his death certificate may tell you something. He was the son of Richard Karran and Elizabeth Cannell, Richard being the brother of Margaret- see www. lawsons.ca for details. It appears that Richard gave up the sea and became a gardener in Douglas- see Manx Notebook Directories.

Margaret married Henry Boon at Toxteth Park R/O Liverpool.

William S Corris married Margaret Jones at St Stephens the Martyr, Edge Hill Liverpool and they had a thriving business in Duke Street near the Anglican Cathedral - see 1881 census.

If your passing through Liverpool on your way to the I.O.M. the signs may still be on the wall, it's not all been altered.

Margaret Corris married William Shimmin in Liverpool at St Bride with St Saviour.

I,m not sure about the name Margaret Greeba who married Sylvester Corris. There is a place called Greeba along the Douglas/Peel Road about the place that a Sylvester Corris married a Catherine Quine.
