Thanks Sue
Gosh, this is getting more confusing than ever -- easy to see I'm new to all this?
I have looked at the 1841 census and found Enos with children Thomas, Enos, Daniel, and Ambrose.
Are there any earlier census that I can look at?
I am fairly sure that the Daniel here is the one who came to Australia -- the dates seem right.
I did find another branch, but that one turned out to be the Misses Lace who once owned the Windsor Boarding House in Douglas.
You see, we originally thought they may have been direct as we have the Illustrated Isle of Man book (they have an advertisement in this) which was printed in 1899 -- we think now that Daniel may have brought it with him. Also have a few other things -- one I just found the other day is a lovely little 'choker band' (I think) -- it is a piece of ribbon with an IOM badge along with other little buckles or slides on it. Fits around one's neck.
Anyway many thanks and I will keep looking!!!!!
