Raymond, can you tell me where you got "PHILIP QUAYLE (father of Philip b.1814) born.....1782 Maughold"? And also why you chose a Lezayre bapt for his father? "PHILIP QUAYLE Christening.. 03 Apr 1766...Lezayre" - out of all the dozens of Quayle possibilities?
Maughold parish registers have:
Philip Quayle and Isabella Kirmeen married 1 Feb 1806. "Philip Quayle from Ballaugh".
They were aged 70 and 60 in 1841, ages rounded.
Philip QUAYLE aged 89, of BallaCorteen, buried Maughold 17 Jun 1858.
The IGI has a bapt in Ballaugh for a Philip Quayle on 2 Sept. 1770, son of William Quayle & Margaret Cowley, but someone has entered a death for him on 24 Feb.1773. This may or may not be correct - I've seen deaths given on the IGI which would have made the person over 150 years old. Philip Quayle is also on Brian Lawson's burials for that date, but no indication that he was a child. And there were a lot of Philip Quayles.
The IGI also has this same bapt [a member's entry] in 1770 as:
Christening: 02 SEP 1770 Of, Ballaugh, Isle Of Man. Father: William Quayle, Mother: Margaret Cowley
Marriages: Spouse: Margaret Cottier, Marriage: 23 SEP 1791.
This 1791 marriage was in Jurby! - Looks like someone grasping at straws, unless that Jurby marriage record also said he was from Ballaugh.
Perhaps someone will kindly find Philip Quayle [died 1858?] and wife Isabella [died 1856?] in the 1851 census to confirm that these are the correct ones [Philip aged 89, of BallaCorteen buried Maughold 17 Jun 1858?].
Isabel dau of Thomas Kirmeen & Ellinor Stole bapt 27 Jul 1778. Private baptism.
Isab. QUAYLE aged 78, B.Cashen, buried 10 Oct 1856.
Thomas Kirmeen & Ellinor Stole married 3 May 1772.
Thomas KERMEEN 86 (Sumner) buried Apr 28 1835.
Thomas son of William Kermeen & Isabel bapt 6 Apr 1749.
William Kermeen & Isabel Callow married 5 Aug 1739.
This Kermeen family were landholders of the Corony, Maughold. Thomas was a younger son - his elder brother William inherited.
