A question came to mind while pondering that the Wm I call Sr could be George's grandfather.
Could the christenings I've listed for the children of Wm Radcliffe & Margaret Quirk have all taken place years after the births of these children not soon after?
(The names Richard & Maria sounding not usual and too Catholic as suggested and family is converting?? The Radcliffes again later were devout Catholics.)
I keep running across these same children's names but all have much earlier (app 4-10 years) actual birthdates.
I have an e-mail from someone telling me there was a William Radcliffe from the Isle of Man that had parents William & Ann Kewley, Kewney(?).
It gives the older as having a birthdate of 1818 but could that be confused & the younger there have a birthdate 1818??????
If that were the case that could make the Wm Jr from my list be the same Wm Radcliffe who was (born 1818 ??)Isle of Man and married Anne Kewney, Kewley(??).
That not only makes Wm Jr easily old enough to be George's father BUT....
as this Wm Jr had a second wife Margaret Robinson(??) it would make COMPLETE sense that a first wife died young leaving a young George to live with a different family (Hartleys) & a 3 year old little girl to be living with Wm Jr & Wm Sr. ?????
BUT EVEN MORE INTRIGUING....... IF those christening dates are YEARS after actual births and we are going with George as the youngest of 13 children to Wm Sr (brother to Wm Jr) that makes the gap big enough in birthdates to leave room for that many more children born between Jane & George.
Where would I go to find out when (or even where) those children whose christening records are in Arbory Parish were actually BORN????
