Re: PLEASE HELP !! Radcliffe/Ratcliffe connection

Thank you!
Reasons, precisely why I couldn't yet bring myself to pencil Wm sr in as father of George yet.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but the original emigration was to Ontario, Canada.... as he only later Wm Sr landed in Ohio.

What I really have leaned toward a number of times is that, although being some sort of uncle would work and is why he is living with him in 1871 census, is that Wm Sr could EASILY be George's Grandfather.
A couple of those male children listed to the marriage of Wm Sr & Margaret Quirk are certainly old enough to have fathered George.
In 1851 census when William Sr, age 57, was living with Wm Jr. & a 3 year old little girl... it shows an obvious lack of a wife to Wm Jr & no mother to that little girl.
Why is there a 9 year old George as a stray, and although Wm Jr really too young to be a father to George, is there a little girl with no mother too.
Have wondered if an eldest son and/or his wife passed and different family members, aunts & uncles, took in some kids?????
Possibly the child Jane, sister to Wm Jr., was married to someone other to (or in addition to) that Thomas Vollans leaving her then to be the Jane in James & Jane Hartley (george's aunt & uncle??) that the stray 9 year old George was living with in that same 1851 census.
Was George brought over with other family while his parents stayed and I'm looking for a birth record in Ontario when it is actually on Isle of Man and he came over very young?????
Is it something that obvious??
I can't imagine that Wm Radcliffe, 77 born Isle of Man, living with George Radcliffe on that 1871 census are any farther apart in relation than uncle or grandfather?????
Hence my frustration.
If I could just find ONE document showing anything that points to one of those facts it would really help.
ACK !!
I'd get really frustrated as records in frontier Ontario are tough but you can imagine how I've been toughened up by looking for many other family records in Montana, USA, decades before it was even a state & kept them *chuckle.
Thanks again for your help.......
if anything clicks with anyone about George being a grandson (or nephew to) Wm Sr please let me know.
