Hello, again. Today, I was at the museum, and as I am researching family in Ballaugh (hence my noticing your Cottiman query), I looked up Cottiman in the index of Ballaugh burials, tanscribed by a member of the Isle of Man Family History Society. There are about 24 Cottimans in the Ballaugh burials list, including the one I mentioned previously, despite Jim's comment. Maybe I decribed it a little wrong, I'm not sure now, as I do not have my file with Francis's transcription of a Manx Note Book/Ballaugh Registers with me. However, you will get this on-line, if you use a search engine, such and ask for Ballaugh Parish Registers.
If you are a member of the Isle of Man Family History Society, you will be able to view Ballaugh Parish Burials, as this same transcription is on-line. I should have realised this before, but the name I am tracing is a modern spelling, and as this only brings up relatively new entries, I thought it was only Ballaugh Parish Register Book 4 burials that was transcribed. My mistake. However, they all are, going back to the first burial on the Island mid-1500's.
However, to view this page, you do need the member's password, or you could write to the museum, or family history society in Castle Street, Peel, or join the society.
If you blank here, post another bulletin, and I'll make time to copy it out, but it will take me time. Incidentally, if you access this page, exact spelling is needed, and in this case it is with an 'i'.
Have you tried the Latter day saints page, IGI, on line http://www.familysearch.org
Good luck, Susanne.
