Hi Donna,
So nice to hear from you. What city/country do you reside in? Now to your questions.
1. There are no persons identified as QUAYLE'S in the two photos. Very few are unidentified. But thanks for letting me know about you gg grandpa being in Brimfield. He most likely knew my gg grandpa and some cousins who were in Brimfield before your Edward moved away in 1865.
One additional comment. I have a gggggg grandmother Mary COWLEY, nee QUAYLE, who was born about 1659/60 in Ballaugh and was buried 6 December 1713 in Ballaugh at the churchyard of the old church in The Cronk. Do you trace your QUAYLE'S to Ballaugh?
2. We may be on to something with the KERMODE'S. I obtained information from my KERMODE/COWLEY cousins in Australia. This indicates that James KERMODE was born in Marown in 1792 (IGI) and died in Galva 10 October 1868 (Galva cemetery). He married Ann KEWIN in Marown on 3 February 1818 (IGI). His parents were Thomas KERMODE and Ann MYLCHREST. James and Ann had at least the following three children per my records: Thomas KERMODE christened 17 December 1818 in Kirk German (Thomas married Eliza COWLEY); Margaret KERMODE born 16 February 1823 and died 23 December 1902 in Galva (married David PATTY); and Ann KERMODE born about 1829 and died 28 February 1881 in Galva (married a man with the surname McCLELLAN).
No Esther is recorded in my records. That doesn't mean she wasn't in the family. Could your Ann QUAY be the same as my ANN KEWIN? Am interested in this line. If you would like to correspond (Internet) with me directly please feel free to do so. If this is your line I can put you into contact with your Australia Cousins.
3. For your information and for anyone else, here are some surnames of the folks included in the two photos.
