Does anyone out there have the facilities to check on how long a distant reletive of mine, Richard greggor, served on HMS Agamemnon.
He was born 1835 in Peel and is listed on most Censuses as being in Peel.
However in 1861 he was an ordinary seaman on the Agamemnon.
I am curious to find out if he was aboard on either of the two attempts the ship made to lay the very first transatlantic telegraph cable.
Any help appreciated.
