I agree - from the information we currently have, the 1861 census 2nd wife of Richard Moore could definitely be Jane Witted, married 28 Feb 1857 at K Rushen, and young Richard is her son in the IGI. The first marriage could have been about 1845 or earlier, which excludes Jane Quayle (m. 1852)

I still wonder if it's possible to find out which family Richard came from and who 1847 Jane's mother was. I feel I've gone as far as I can with the IGI and will presumably have to wait till my next visit to the Island to trawl through the registers in the hope of finding something there that will shed some light.

Unless someone else has already done that ....?!
