I had spotted the Castletown 1848, and mother's name Maria is encouraging. The marriage entry does clearly say father Richard but I've come across mistakes before.

What's bothering me is that in the 1861 census there is a Jane, daughter of Richard, whose wife is Jane, in Limpet St (?) Port St Mary, aged 15 born Port St Mary, and in the 1851 a Jane daughter of Richard, widower, aged 4, born Rushen (same one?). There is another in the 1861 census, Jane d. of Richard & Jane in Shore St, Port St mary but she is under a year old (and is the only Jane d. of Richard the IGI threw up for me).

So I don't know... what next?
