Licencees from c 1860 are found by searching the records of the licencing courts - an annual 'brewster' session which was generally reported in the paper (esp if there was any dispute) - pre that period the directories will give licencee and there are records held in Manx Museum - personal and tedious search - I did some for Douglas and Peel but havn't done any work on Ramsey Maughold etc as Constant Radcliffe had done so much.
