Brian Lawsons marriage page has Charles Edwin Cottier marrying Emma Mary Quine on April 4 1895 in Douglas.
In the 1881 census there is Charles Cottier, age 17, shoemaker, son of Robert E and Ann Cottier at 3 Ivy Lane Maughold.
In 1891 he is still a shoemaker and is living with his parents at 10 Strand Street. RG12/4685
Emma Quine is more difficult to identify.
In 1871 there is Emma M Quine, daughter of Henry and Mersha (sic) Quine of 7 Stockfield Malew. She was born in Peel.
Also Emma Quine, Summer Hill Douglas, aged 7 daughter of Thomas and Isabella Quine.
In 1881 there is a 17 year-old Emma at the Cresent Hotel RG11/5605, born in Onchan and an Emma M at St German's Place in Peel with Henry and Marcia Quine. So it is not clear which of the two is the emma in question.
In 1891 there is only a an Emma Quine 19, servant at a boarding house 19 Castle Mona Ave RG12/4689. The parish of birth is not given
