I think he moved into farming - all the George Redferns seemed to be butchers at one stage - no doubt as they got older and richer they moved into other jobs.

Re email - I got the text but none of the attachments - something went wrong at the interface between my ISP for manxnotebook and my private email - they tell me it is sorted now!

anyway the new tree is now up (as of Thurs 1 Sep)- most guesses have some 2nd piece of evidence to back them up but it needs a few more days work in Manx Museum - I too will be away for about 2 weeks so no more will be added
