My surname is Hudson but apparently used to be Hutchin too. Though my ancestors are from Dalby, or my precisely Ballacallin and around that locality. My grandfather has had no luck tracing the roots that far back but I noticed that there was a Hudson in the Ballacallin at the beginning of the 20th century. Not sure when the name was changed.

What is the best way to go about locating your ancestors?
