Brian, thanks once again for info which is new to me re my grandfather. 7th Feb you sent me details of the ships he sailed with when he worked for the Steam Packet Co. and then he gives his dob as 1873 - so it does vary. I would be very grateful for any info about Albert Palmer, not only for my own satisfaction but his remaining son (in his 80's)who thrives on everything I send to him.
