I think that the most interesting development with a view to discovering anything about earlier lineage/linkage is the analysis and comparison of DNA. I am participating in the CROW DNA project, which may halp USA Crowes to discover if they are of Manx lineage, It may also throw light on the earlier origins of the family before the manorial rcords!
