My Grandfather Alexander Burnett was a lightkeeper from 1885 until retirement in 1921. He was married to Isabel Coull and they had 10 children. One, it would seem for each posting of which he had 10 separate lights that he kept around Scotland.
His brother James was also a lightkeeper. I believe Jame's first posting was at dubh artach. Lost track of him at that point.
I am uncertain about the Isle of Man connection, but I am certainly interested. All records I have through the Northern Lighthouse Commission indicate that there was only one Alexander Burnett ever in service.
I have a fair amount of data on the family.
