Reverse question would be interesting too. The Dougherty name comes from Innishowen, County Donegal, and I believe the last clan. There was an uprising early 1600s, when Sir Cahir O'doughertie (sp?) was overthrown.
But first Dougherty's appear in Andreas prior to 1600, and then Jurby, and then onwards. There were a lot of them, and I have not had time to work through the many wills.
