Bawden

I am going to try this thread again as it has been sometime and someone new on the board might be able to fill in blanks for me

My Ancestor was
Maria Kelly ch 14 Dec 1834 in Kirk German
She married
Edward Bawden 16 Jun 1864 Patrick

Probably Edwards 2nd wife his first he took to the USA. He was in Minning by profession

I am told she paid for the Steeple on Rosemount Church. I know it was put in place around 1908 shortly after Edward died.

Trustees of the Church included Mr T.W. Kelly
Maria had a brother Thomas Kelly, their father was William Kelly.

Thomas was born in 1821 which would have made him awfully old, in his 80's at the turn of the 20th century. I am trying to either porve or disprove that my Maria was actually involved at Trinity. I have spent several hours at the Manx Museum two years ago with no sucess and was unable to contact the then Minister in Charge to see if they had any records.

Can anyone help?

Are Maria and and Edward on the 1881-1891 census records, I am told she lived in Selbourne Drive, Douglas. I have checked Frances' notes on Trinity in the Manx Notebook and no mention of the steeple and who paid for it. I found a leaflet at the Museum advertising a fate for raising oney for it's purchase but that was all.

Thanks for anything you can give me to push this forward to conclusion hopefully,

Kind regards
