Mr JA Brew wrote that Robert Brew (1689-1760) succeeded his father Patrick in Ballavarane, Slegaby, in 1705. He married Christian, daughter of Captain Thomas Christian (1656-1725) of Ballamoar, Jurby, and Catherine Harrison (died 1729), who was born 1690 and died in 1749 at the age of 59.

Robert Brew's brother Patt (1692-1765) married Emma [Emmy] Christian (1726-1781).
