Re: Ann Christian and brother Thomas - Jurby

Hi Nigel,

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you, I don't know if you noticed but I got involved in another line of mine with some interesting twists and as much as I try I can only concentrate on one ancestor at a time. I was also a bit embarrassed as I didn't know what Libre Canc was in you last message, by some luck I found my copy of "The manx family tree" (BTW thanks for all you hard work there). Any way reading it again I found out what it was and now feel more educated, been guessing at a lot of stuff for a while, what a helpful little tool this book is..

William Christian as far as I can tell was the son of Patrick Christian, (bn about 1577), and Chritian Brew, was he not, brother of Donald/Daniel Christian born aoubt 1600 died 1663. Philip was William's son and William I read as William's grandson but try as I might can't proove it. I have to find a FHS centre, (I think there is one within an hour of my house) as relying solely on the internet is really proving frustrating at times!

Is this family desecended from the Milntown Christians or separate? If descended, do you know how? I can't get back any further than Patrick and Christian nee Brew Christian, ( Having the same forename and surname must have been confusing!) Can't even find out where PAtrick and Christian were buried, not mentioned in Brian's index of burials for the Island or online Parish registers that I can find.

Thanks again Nigel

Kind regards

Sue Smith
