Cannot we please make use of the FHS Open Days which are to be in Laxey in a large room & meant to cover Lonan & Laxey families. Third weekend of September in the Riverside Restaurant to coincide with the Wheel celebrations & Chrystals 150 year celebrations.

So far as my "one name do's" are concerned the Kinvig one was very successful because
1. It was planned well ahead
2. Individuals were targeted with personal invitations well ahead
3. There was superb free publicity which would have cost a fortune to pay for, but a lot of work went into the publicity plus the kindness of "Fenella".
4. Various people had prepared a mass of material ready for exhibiting.
5. The evening did not clash with other events

The Quine evening was arranged at short notice and failed on most of the above criteria.
