Re: Crellin/Crowe

Lois,

I realize this is the wrong string, but since we're on the subject of passenger lists... Per our previous discussion, I have Ebenezer Kaighin's Naturalization record showing he emigrated in 1852. He came over with his Grandfather and parents. I've checked all the usual online places but I still haven't found this family. I actually went to the Merseyside Maritime Museum while waiting for the ferry during my last visit in 1998, but the staff kindly directed me elsewhere and I didn't have the time. I have been assuming they came from Liverpool but it is possible they came from another English port. Ebinezer was born in England in 1850 probably while his father was studying to become a Methodist minister. Of all the mysteries I've come across, this one has been the hardest to crack. If it's not too much trouble, could you check what you have for me and see if you can find them? Here are their names and ages in 1852:

Charles Kaighin 76 b.IOM (1776)
Charles Wesley Kaighin 28 b.IOM (1824)
Margaret (Christian) Kaighin 29 b.IOM (1823)
Ebenezer Kaighin 1 (or 2) b. England (Nov 7, 1850)

Also, I've updated my Cleveland Kaighins page with data from the Necrology File and a couple other sources and made quite a few changes to the database if you're interested.

Thanks Lois.
