none of children can be found in Island baptismal records thus think came to Island c. 1845

In 1861 a Robert Quiggen is in Malew age 66 sharing with a John age 70 - both shown as born England

Robert Quiggin buried D St George 1862 age 68
Mary Todd Quiggin buried S Dt George 1859 age 56
Augustus Q. buried DSG 21 Mar 1849

a Robert Quiggin married a Mary Todd on 07 AUG 1824 at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven, Cumberland, England
a Robert Quaggin bapt 25 NOV 1792 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England son of ROBERT QUAGGIN and Ellen

In 1848 directory Quiggin R, 13 Great Nelson st which ties in with the Douglas pg bk entries (I dont have access to full census)

Mr Edward Todd Quiggin, was principal partner in the firm of Quiggin and Co timber merchants and rope manufacturers, the Bridge, Douglas- there is an extensive Douglas based Quiggin family

I would be interested in learning more as I think Robert was a Wesleyan Local Preacher, also I think related to John Quiggin publisher

and also think R associated with R Muter Wm Quiggin in Wm Quiggin and Co of the 1840's which was I think precursor to Quiggin rope co.
