Just got a message from my Dad who's found more information in his basement relative to which children belong to which parent. (John and Ann Jane).
Both John and Ann Jane were married previous to their marriage to each other.
Ann Jane had daughter Ada with husband #1.
John had sons Robert, William and Thomas and daughter Emma with wife #1. Robert, William and Thomas all emmigrated to the U.S.
Together, Ann Jane and John had Eleanor (my grandmother), John (Jack) and Kate. So at least it's all making sense now.
Still wondering how we might locate those descendants who might still be living on the IOM. It would seem that most of the children of those who remained on the IOM were female, making it hard to track through last names.
Thanks again for the info. Copies are circulating to all those Quayle-Chapman cousins already.
