Being new to this, I find it all fascinating.
I also find it interesting that Aunt Kate Cleator (nee Quayle) who was in her 80s when she visited us here in Michigan in 1971 wasn't mentioned in either census.
I also re-read a letter from her to my parents (unfortunately undated) that references a photo she included. The narration states that Jimmy Lindsay Sr. was Aunt Ada's son. Makes me wonder if Ada, who was 13 in the 1891 census wasn't the sister of either John or more likely given the information, Ann Jane.
Anyway, all of this has excited my Dad (age 72), so he's now headed to his basement to seek out his cache of Aunt Kate's letters to ferret out more familial relationship references.
