Re: Radcliffe Farm

Hi Jeff,
You have your William Radcliffe as b.3 Dec.1769. But this William R. was the son of Parish Clerk William Radcliffe, and his wife Margery Lace.
Constance Radcliffe wrote "William, the first Clerk, married Margery Lace, who was a party to one of the most detailed articles of marriage ever drawn up when her son William the second Clerk married Mary Martin of "Cronk e dooiney" in 1792….. Poor Mary was destined to live her whole married life in the shadow of her masterful mother-in-law, for she died in 1809, and the redoubtable Margery not until 1813..".
You can see William's will [Archdeacon Wills 1791 #57, Andreas] on the websites given in the messages above, on this List.

I haven't yet been able to identify which William R. married Bridget Lace, because there were so many William Radcliffes. I am guessing that it was probably the marriage between William R. and "Bahee Lace" in Andreas 7 Nov.1792. A Bridget Lace was bapt in Andreas 12 Nov.1769, the dau. of Danl Lace and Bahee Goldsmith. Her brother Thomas was b.1772.
A Thomas Radcliff [your Thomas William R?] was bapt. in Bride, 20 Apr.1805, the son of William Radcliff and "Bridjet Lace", according to the IGI.

I can't see a burial in Andreas for Bridget/Bahee. Perhaps in Bride? Or did they emigrate?
