May i suggest that this badge is the Kings Regt.(Liverpool)and is the White Horse of Hanover rather than the White Horse of Kent -- the I-O-M
had strong connections with the Kings Liverpool regiment.which is a Infantry regt.
Yeomanry were a cavalry vol.force and as such the uniform should show
cavalry forms of dress e.g. tight trousers(known as Overalls) they would have
worn spurs and perhaps chain mail shoulder straps-formally protection against
sword cuts purely decorative when in dress uniform.My guess is the Kings
Liverpool Regt. for the close connection that this regt. had with the island
