My Mother, Virgina - who is 84, says that Christian (according to what she had been told) was the first Dolloff who came to the United States and that he came from Vilnay (sp?) Russia. Christian came up from Exeter to Concord and supposedly there is a chair at the Concord Historical Society that he brought with him from the old country. Prior to their coming to the United States, they had no Christian names, they went by the surname only. Maybe Dalhoof?
My mothers grandfather was Fred F. Dolloff, he had one brother, Harry and a sister, Vina who married a Proctor. She had two children. Harry had no children but adopted one child, Martha Bickford.
My mother says there was a genealogy that her grandparents had but she doesn't know where it is located. Could it be with the Chair; it was a Carver Chair that she said she was told came on the boat with him in steerage.
There was an Emma Dolloff Edgerly, who was Fred's Aunt a cousin, Dr. Albert Dolloff who lived in New Hampton.
Who are you and what is your name and where are you from?
