I had a look at some earlier births of Williams/Henrys born illegitimate in Ramsey. When the children were adopted they usually kept their first names. I don't think they're right but they're worth noting:

William born 15 Aug 1885 at 9 Queen Street Ramsey to Mary Ann or Annie Comaish, bapt on 16 July 1886 daughter of William & Catherine Comaish. The mother died in 1886.

Henry born 28 July 1885 at Marsden Terrace Ramsey to Catherine Kneale daughter of Daniel Kneale. Child affiliated to Charles Towle, Moaney Moar, Lezayre.
