www.imuseum.im has indices + links to parish regs - the Wm buried in Texas would appear to be son of Wm Corkill + Elinor Corlett m Kk Michael 8 July 1841 (post 1841 census) and bapt 10 Oct 1841 - by 1851 Wm senior is noted as a farmer of 35ac at Ballashimmin in Kk German (they are missing by the 1861 census so you need look up dates of naturalisation in USA + also emigration lists) - this would appear to be rented ground and Wm moved there sometime c 1843 - Wm senr would appear to be son of John Corkill + Jane Gell/Gill/Killey (alternatives for same name - you didn't think Manx genealogy was simple did you?) - John was farming Knockbane a short distance away from Ballashimmin - Jane tho married in Kk German was born in Lezayre - John would appear to be son of Thomas Corkill + Cath Kewley bapt 4 Dec 1785
