Lynne, I believe that John Arthur (father of Christian b circa 1739) had a sister Susannah Arthur who married John Kelly (b 1714 of Ballavitchal, Marown) in 1739.

A Kelly descendant, I M Kelly, did extensive research on the Kellys of Ballavitchal, and she wrote a book “Twas Thus, and Thus They Lived”.

Karen Rimmer (as far as I know) possesses a copy of this book. I think that I M Kelly had suggested that Susannah Arthur was the daughter of a Thomas Arthur, a merchant from Scotland. I’ll alter the subject heading and see if Karen notices this thread.
