George was also a fireman onboard SS New England when it sank at the mouth of the Clarence River in December 1882. A couple of years later he became the licencee of the Chatsworth Hotel and then the Ramornie Hotel. I started researching from the end of his life and worked my way back to the Isle of Man! I just have to work out now which John Kneen was his father (perhaps the lodger in the 1851 Census)!
