I've tried to transcribe the court record as best I can it doesn't really give us any useful background information though for Robert and Elizabeth or their child:-

At an Ecclesiastical Court held at
Douglas 18 December 1857

Between - Elizabeth Christian - Plaintiff
and
Robert Corkill - Defendant

Upon hearing this cause in the presence of the parties or their advocats and upon the admission of the Defendant by John Kermode the said Plaintiff having been allowed to affiliate her illegitimate child and having made oath upon the Holy Evangelists that the said Defendant is the father thereof the said child is therefore being affiliated upon the Defendant in due fees and he is noticed to pay for the use of the Plaintiff the sum of fifty shillings being for his half of the lying in expenses attending the birth of the said child and three pounds in the maintenance thereof from the 8th August last with 21/- (?) costs of this cause in full.
