Re: Liverpool Parish Mariner
In Response To: Liverpool Parish Mariner ()

Dear Viv,
I am currently researching in to the shipwreck of the ship Horatio, which was wrecked on the beach of Dinas Dinlle, Caernarfon. Following the recent winter storms, it appears that the remains of a vessel matching the description of the Horatio has appeared. The ship was wrecked on the 4th of Feb, 1817.
Captain's name was A. Hannay
In my research I came across a petition of John Bean Hannay, 1817 regarding the loss of his brother and the whole of his crew two months previously. Can this be the Alexander Hannay you are looking for?
Get in touch for more details.
Regards,
Al
