Yes it would be good to get him back to Sorbie Tower in Scotland but I haven't found proof of anything about Alexander Hannay apart from the fact that he was a mariner.
And that he married Elizabeth Manners and has a son also called Alexander

I'm now wondering if he may have left Scotland via the Solway Firth.....
He is always simmering on the back-boiler until I get further inspiration about him. But I think you've given me a kick-start again
