Re: Philip Moore of Pulrose
In Response To: Philip Moore of Pulrose ()

South Side SaLE mAY 1797 #46 - [Douglas][Dated 27 Jan 1796]Alice Moore(widow, Douglas) sells for £60(British) to Philip Moore(PoleRoish) (part to discharge mortgage held by sd Philip Moore) my dwelling house + backyard adj street on north, Ewan Quay on east, Thomas Kewin(butcher) on the south and the rent of Charles Kelly on west (viz the the dwelling house + concerns occupied by Thos Cretney late decd); Witt Ellinor Tarney x, Sarah Cavendish x, Richd Clague, John Kneale

Maybe each witness had a copy but since both female witnesses could only mark then maybe Richd Clague was possibly the lawyer involved (or a professional scribe)

Philip Moore is one of the Pulrose Moores - stated by A W Moore to be a branch of the More Hall in Lancashire family (see Old Manx Families on Manx Note Book
