qtrland descent was fixed by law - no need to mention in will; intack or purchased land (unless explicited mentioned that was to descend as land of inheritance) could be devised by will - this would pass to executors unless otherwise specified - Lib Assed should give transfer.

Re maps one email I have is mapping (at) gov.im so try there - price of £50 was quoted to me but I can't vouch that this is accurate - the scans however have removed the scales but there is added GIS info linking coordinates to modern mapping included.

The field numbers are refs to a book (held by Manx Museum) which gives the type of land use but not the owner - if there is a T suffix to a plot on Woods atlas maps (on your CD) then a tithe plan dating generally from 1840 (tho some are earlier) is held on microfiche by Manx Museum (I think the originals are still with Land registry)
