I have been following this thread with some interest, as my GG grandmother was Mary Anne Tear(e), b. Jurby 1819, emigrated to America; married John Morrison (b. Maughold 1817), had a son in New York, then returned to Andreas, where they had 4 more children, then moved back to NY. Their Manx-born children all later settled in New Jersey, where one had a lime-burning business that was established by P. Tear in 1845 (see attached ad).

I would like to explore the possible connection between my 1819 Mary Ann Tear(s) and your Philip Tear family of Andreas, including evidence of emigration of famly members to America before 1845.
