Hi Cheryl
I can’t see an Isle of Man connection. There are trees on Ancestry that suggest Isle of Man as John’s birth place but I can’t find anything to support that. The 1860 US Census transcript on Family Search has John’s birth place as Me. I haven’t been able to check the original image to confirm that this is a correct transcript or not. One tree on Ancestry suggests Me is Maine as in the US state of Maine. The 1870 and 1880 Census records both say England for his place of birth.
