So 2 possibilities:

1) Your William Crowe, miner, was off the island in 1861 and hasn’t yet been identified.

2) This is your William Crowe, miner, father of John Henry Crowe. If so, JHC was probably conceived before WC’s marriage to Eliza Cannon (with a different woman eg Elizabeth Cowin or Margaret Cain), and born after that marriage.
