Thank you very much for your reply and suggestions. The 1891 census does have the correct children's names but the surname is obviously mispelt. I would like to look further into your last suggestion of William Crowe, miner of Ballamilghyn, Lonan, who married Eliza Cannon in Lonan in Jan 1862. As you correctly stated, on John Walter Crowe's marriage entry record, it does state his father as being William Crowe and his occupation as being a miner. Where did you find the details of his marriage and is there any way I can check to see if there is a record of their children's names to see if John or Walter appear?
