The earliest birth to Robert Gill and Eleanor Barker I can find is 1815, so Frances’s suggestion that Robert was likely to have been the 57 yr old buried in Maughold in 1837 seems likely. Eleanor was probably the 42 yr old buried on 12th July 1833 in Maughold.

When daughter Hannah Gill b 1820 married Robert Cowley in 1839 in Maughold she was described as “a minor with consent of guardians”.

Robert Gill may have remarried in 1834 --- there’s a marriage of widower Robert Gill to widow Sarah Buchanan. Interestingly, this Robert’s signature looks to be in the same hand as that of one of the witnesses to the marriage of a Robert Gill (his son ?) to Margaret Kermeen in 1835.

Just speculation, though.
