should have looked at my pre Act of settlement deeds - Lib Canc 1682 page 47 is the sale of Ballakilley (adj to church glebe [ie the old glebe]) Margt Christian als Kinry (Harrison in later court) + son Danold Christian sells for £4(English) to John Quarke 3/4 of a qtr known as Ballakilley rent 9s 8d - 14s 4d to Margt + Donald and £1 5s 8d to Jo Cluag [Clague] now and other half after a year
- not quite sure where the Christians fit in as in 1666 for the 19s 8d the holders were Tho Moore junr, Jo Cloage 9s 8d, Phill Mooore, Jo Killey and Ann his wife, Sir[ie Parson] James Moore for 3d and again for 6d - by 1686 Tho More junr, Jo Quarke 9s 8d, Phill Moore, Jo Killey and his wife, Sir James Moore 3d + 6d
in 1704 comp book Jane Looney + Fin Quark her husband held half of Balladool (the order means that the land came via the wife)
thus for the 1682 purchase you are looking at a fairly affluent Quark family to afford to buy Ballakilley
