My ancestor Esther Sayle was born in Andreas in 1800 ( or 1799). She married Lace Radcliffe "by special license" on 17 November 1821, In Andreas Church Why would they need a special licence ? Does anyone know who her parents/ grandparents were. She had 6 sons and a daughter Catherine. Four of the sons (Edward, Lace, John THomas and Joseph) went to America and one (James) came to Sydney. William Lace and Benjamin stayed in Andreas. Esther died 7 June 1864, Her husband Lace died while delivering a sermon in Smeal in 1878.
