Checked that information , and the Christening details are given as Holliday , as is the 1861 census IOM on Brian Lawsons site.
HOWEVER , on Lawsons 1871 census and LDS IGI 1881 census he is Halliday. He also married Rebecca Callow, Braddan 11/4/1887 as Halliday , no children for them on the IOM.
1881 Census details , all the Family born IOM , he is a Engine Fitter , all living at 172 Market Street, Birkenhead , Cheshire.

I am not sure I would have been too happy if my mother had called me Halliday, can you imagine how many times he would have had to repeat his Christian name !!!
