So let me see if I follow this. The William Corkill who married Margaret Faraghar, you think, is the son of William Corkill and Alice Cannon (m 1739). I checked and found His baptism was in 1743 in Braddan.

You believe that William Corkill senior had a brother named Peter. And you believe that William and Alice also had children (besides 1743 born William) named Peter, Thomas and Isabel.

You believe that William senior died in 1781 and William (husband of Margaret Faraghar) died in 1780.

So my question then is what gives you confidence that William (husband of Margaret Faraghar) is the son of William and Alice?

In one post, when talking about the death of Thomas in the Manx Sun you said putative father William had died 1790. But then in the post about him being the son of William and Alice I think you suggested that he died in 1780, a year before his father.

Am I all mixed up?
